Glock handguns are made in Deutsch-Wagram, Austria, which is a town located about 25 kilometers (15 miles) north of Vienna. The company was founded in 1963 by Gaston Glock, who started out by producing plastic parts for the automotive and military industries. In 1980, Glock developed his first handgun, the Glock 17, which quickly became popular with law enforcement agencies and military units around the world. Today, Glock manufactures a wide range of handguns, including full-size, compact, and subcompact models, as well as long guns, knives, and other accessories.
